Early 18th Century Dutch Baroque Burl Walnut Drop-Front Secretary Desk
A substantial early 18th century Dutch two-part secretary in burl walnut with a beautifully mellowed patina. The upper section has a double-domed broken pediment with a central urn finial, opening to reveal an interior fitted with open shelves, a central architectural cabinet with mirrored door flanked by reeded pilasters under a pediment, pigeon holes, and small drawers. The drop front opens to a fitted wood writing surface with an arrangement of small drawers and cubbies behind. Circa 1740.
