Early 19th Century Chinese Export Lacquer Tea Caddy
A large octagonal form Chinese export tea caddy in black lacquer decorated throughout in gilt and red with figural garden scenes, pavilions, and dense scrolling foliage. The lid panel features a central cartouche with figures among architecture, surrounded by cloud and dragon scrollwork. The interior is lacquered black throughout. Circa 1800-1840.
