18th Century French Carved Giltwood Console Table with Marble Top

Wall-mounted corner console with a shaped pink and grey veined marble top above an apron carved in low relief with a continuous wave and scroll frieze. Floral swags and garlands hang from a central tablet carved with a sunflower medallion. The single tapering leg carved overall with acanthus foliage in high relief, terminating in a square block and foliate foot. The quality and depth of carving throughout is exceptional.
