A charming and unusual early 20th century heavily carved and paint decorated desk commemorating the signing of the French constitution in 1795 complete with all the symbols of the French republic. The desk doors concealing shelves and drawers are fashioned to resemble military drums. The abutting cabinet offers additional storage and is also extensively carved and painted with additional symbols of the republic. The desk’s leather surface is missing but can be easily replaced in any color hide. The accompanying chair is covered in probably its original white leather.
